NHL Tuesday bets: Good night for SOG props

We've got a nine-game slate in the NHL, and with a few teams vulnerable to shots, it's a good night to load up some Shots on Goal (SOG) prop bets.

It's really always a good night to bet on SOG props, and I've got five that stick out to me.

Jonathan Huberdeau over 2.5 SOG (-115 DK)

These are the best odds we're ever going to get on Jonathan Huberdeau to get over 2.5 SOG. My guess is we're seeing these reasonable odds because he's been up-and-down lately, but location is vitally important here.

Huberdeau and the Panthers are finally back home after a seven-game road trip, and home is a good place to be if you're Jonathan Huberdeau.

He has covered his SOG in 75% of home games this year and 13 of his last 14. I'm following that success against a Montreal team allowing 33.3 shots per game on the road in their past 10 games.

Jacob Trouba over 2.5 SOG (+140 DK)

We're shooting for the stars with this +140 prop bet, but I really like what I'm seeing from Jacob Trouba recently.

Trouba has 19 shot attempts in his past three games, going over his SOG in two straight.

One of those games was against this Pittsburgh team, and in two against the Penguins this season, Trouba has gone over both times.

Pittsburgh has been letting up a lot more shots lately at home: 32.8 per game in their past 10 and 35.2 in their last five.

They've also been generous to defensemen shots, allowing the ninth-most per game to the position since the All Star break.

I love the ascending volume for Trouba, this opponent, and these odds. I'm in for a unit.

Kirill Kaprizov over 3.5 SOG (-110 DK)

I'm just going to keep betting on Kaprizov, I think we can keep this write-up short.

At home, Kaprizov has gone over this 3.5 mark in nine of his last 11 games, and he's averaging 7.4 shot attempts per game in his past five.

Philly is a terrific target for shots, allowing 34.4 per game. I'm not overthinking this play.

Matthew Tkachuk over 2.5 SOG (-130 DK)

Tkachuck has had steady production for Calgary lately, covering his SOG in eight of his past 10 games.

Most of that has been at home, hitting in seven of eight games, and he's home again Tuesday.

Colorado has been a generous shot target of late, allowing 34 shots per game on the road in their past 10.

Tkachuk had four SOG against this team just two weeks ago, and I'm okay with these odds given his steady hit-rate.

Ryan Getzlaf over 1.5 SOG (-125 DK)

Man, this is an ugly one, but it stuck out so much Tuesday morning that I must trust my instincts.

Getzlaf has covered his SOG in six of his past eight at home, and Dallas has been getting pummeled by shots recently.

In their last five road games, the Stars are seeing 36.2 shots per game against them. Dallas also has allowed the 11th most shots to centers since the All-Star break, slotting in Getzlaf as a viable target.

I'm following the home success and the target. -125 for two shots feels extremely reasonable.

Best of luck Tuesday night in the NHL, pick out the spots that speak to you and let's cash some shot props!
