The Edmonton Oilers have placed Dylan Holloway and Mattias Janmark on long-term injured reserve.

Janmark suffered a shoulder injury and hasn’t played a game since October 26. The team retroactively placed him on LTIR due to the games he missed since then. Holloway suffered a knee injury in the Oilers 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders and is expected to miss a few months.

To replace these players in the lineup, the Oilers have called up Adam Erne, Philip Broberg and Raphael Lavoie from the Bakersfield Condors. Erne was sent down to the minors a couple of weeks ago and cleared waivers.

Janmark was a UFA signing by the Oilers prior to the 2022-23 season. He scored 25 points for them in 66 games. They re-signed him to a one-year deal at $1.25 million and so far that hasn’t gone well for the team. He has zero points in seven games this year and has had significant injury issues.

Holloway is generally regarded as one of the best prospects in the Oilers system and this injury is a big blow to his future with the club. He has been underwhelming this year, with only one point in 14 games, but almost the entire team has been playing poorly. He played 51 games for the Oilers last year and scored three goals and nine points.

Holloway will be an RFA after this season and the Oilers will have to make a decision about his future with the team.

Erne played four games in his recent AHL stint, scoring one goal and no assists. Broberg also played four games for Bakersfield this year, scoring two assists. Lavoie has been the best of the recent call-ups as he scored seven points in five games with the Condors this year and is still looking for his first NHL point.
