Andres Guardado says farewell to Real Betis: Returning as coach is the plan

Andres Guardado has said his farewell to Real Betis today.

The Mexican veteran's goodbye ceremony was held today as he prepares to return home to LigaMX.

He said: Things happened very quickly. My good game against Granada made them warm up there and accelerate everything. The club also told me that perhaps they could not offer me more years of contract. There they did give me more certainty and what I wanted was to continue playing."

Asked about coaching Betis in the future, he said: Hopefully, it will be one of my goals when I receive the coaching title. I am of the idea that things must be demonstrated beforehand. Betis must have well-prepared coaches, I will try to be so in case they approach in the future.

"Joaqun as president? Imagine, I don't know if that would be good or bad. I have no doubt that in his mind he has to continue growing within the club and achieve things at another level. Give me a call!

I return home because it is my country, but the leagues are changing. It's a challenge, that's why I take it and go. It motivates me a lot to be able to go and show that at my age I can be competitive.

Betis is clearly the club of my life in Europe. When I return to Seville it will be like returning home."

He added: It would be good if in the future I coached Betis and Rafa Mrquez coached Bara. He would be very nice."
