Sources in France suggest that Mario Balotelli wants to leave Adana Demirspor for a return to Serie A, with Udinese, Salernitana and Empoli interested.

The 33-year-old is only under contract in Turkey until June 30, although there is also an option to extend by another year.

He had started the season well with three goals in five Turkish Super Lig matches, but then had to undergo surgery for a knee injury in November.

Footmercato claim that Balotelli is ready to leave Adana Demirspor and would favour a move to Serie A, hoping to earn himself a place in the Italy squad for the EURO 2024 tournament.

There are three clubs believed to be evaluating the idea of picking up SuperMario, with Salernitana coached by Pippo Inzaghi an interesting option, especially as Boulaye Dia is both injured and on the market.

Udinese are another alternative, having struggled for goals so far this season and with Florian Thauvin attracted by a return to France.

The third club is said to be Empoli, who are in the relegation zone and have Francesco Caputo linked with a move to Spezia.
