‘Deal Has Been Agreed’: West Ham’s Midfield ‘Dynamo’ Set to Depart From the Club on Deadline Day

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Pablo Fornals is set to move away from the Premier League and back to La Liga. The West Ham midfielder will join Spanish side Real Betis in the final hours of the January transfer window.

West Ham and Real Betis Have Agreed on a Deal for Pablo Fornals

Medical Tests Scheduled in London

West Ham’s attacking midfielder will leave the club on a permanent basis. He will move back to the league where he spent four seasons, two at Malaga and the other two at Villareal. Fornals had fallen out of the starting lineup at West Ham in recent times leading up to his move. According to David Ornstein, medical tests have been scheduled for the player in London.

After completion of the medical examination, the paperwork will be signed.

Romano revealed the details of the deal for the 27-year-old’s permanent transfer. Betis will pay the Hammers a total package of £8.5 million. The initial fixed fee is a little over £5 million and further add-ons are up to £3.5 million.

The Italian journalist wrote on his social media handle: “Pablo Fornals to Real Betis, here we go! Verbal agreement reached now with West Ham. Understand deal has been agreed for €6m fixed fee plus €4m add-ons. Betis, ready to complete documents and then deal will be signed.”

Fornals’ Time at West Ham

The Spanish international joined the London side in the summer of 2019 from Villareal. The midfield “dynamo” was known for his versatility as he could play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and even in the wide areas at times, if needed. Fornals will leave the Irons having featured 202 times for them and scoring 23 goals.

The former Malaga player has had a decent time in the English league, however, recently his performances dipped and he fell down the pecking order. A move back to his home country could potentially help him get his career back on track.
