Harry Redknapp has admitted that he would be tempted to say yes to Tottenham if his former club were to offer him the manager's job again.

Redknapp managed Spurs for four seasons between 2008 and 2012. He was the first Tottenham manager to lead the club into the UEFA Champions League.

The Tottenham job is not yet officially vacant but it is widely believed that Antonio Conte may be sacked in the coming days.

If he were to replace Conte, Redknapp would become the oldest manager in EPL history, breaking the record set by 75-year-old Roy Hodgson, who came out of retirement to return to the Crystal Palace hot-seat earlier this week.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Redknapp said: "If someone asks you, I think it would be hard to say no, I'll be truthful.

"When you love it, you do find it hard to say no, as Roy and Neil [Warnock] would agree."

Neil Warnock is currently managing Huddersfield Town at the age of 74.

When asked if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had called him yet, Redknapp laughed and replied: "No, definitely not, that has not happened.

"But you look at what you're doing now, sitting around, having a game of golf, and it's not the money, it's the challenge, you love it, the buzz of it, winning a game is a fantastic feeling. It's hard to say no."

Multiple reports have claimed that 31-year-old Ryan Mason could be placed in charge of Spurs on an interim basis if and when Conte leaves.

"Yeah of course, I would love that," said Redknapp when asked if he would be interested in supporting Mason as an assistant.

"With a young manager I often think that they don't use older figures, but I think there is room for older people to go in with them and work with a young manager, even if it was only for a couple of days a week, just to be around. They can bounce ideas off you – I think that's important.

"It's a difficult job and when you're young it's important to have someone experienced there with you."
