Inter have set their sights on Tajon Buchanan to replace the injured Juan Cuadrado, but acquiring him won’t be very easy. Club Brugge have no intention of letting him go for a cheap fee, despite his wish and the fact that there’s not much time on his contract, Calciomercato informs.

The wingback wasn’t selected for the last two games because he’s pushing to depart. The talent wants to join the Nerazzurri, but he has other high-profile suitors as well.

Manchester City and Bournemouth are rivaling Inter to capture Buchanan, which fuels the requests by his side. Club Brugge value him €12/13M since his deal runs out in 2025. The Belgian outfit is waiting for an attempt by one of the two Premier League clubs since they have more money to spend.

Instead, the Nerazzurri are trying to leverage his desire to get him at an affordable price and formula. They have concocted a season-long loan with an option to buy, paying an initial fee. They’ll bankroll that by partying ways with Stefano Sensi and Lucien Agoumé. That’ll postpone the disbursement to the summer.

Our Take on Inter and Buchanan

One of the few flaws of their management is that they telegraph their moves a little too much, which exposes them to other sides swooping in or gaffes in general. It’s obviously tough to get quality players with little money. Perhaps they’ll pivot toward a Serie A veteran if they can’t sign him quickly.
