Inter have been keeping tabs on Tajon Buchanan for a while in case they need to make a move on the right flank. They do now considering Juan Cuadrado’s upcoming surgery. The Nerazzurri made their first attempt a year ago and were met with a €18M request, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

His price tag is likely a little lower now since he hasn’t prolonged his contract. It expires in 2025. He’d be an investment for the future. Their management is waiting for the green light from the ownership to lodge an offer. The formula would likely be the same they used to acquire Robin Gosens from Atalanta: a loan with the obligation to buy.

Inter will have to tender €12/15M to Club Brugge to purchase Buchanan. He moved to Belgium from the New England Revolution in a €6.3M deal in January 2022 after starting his career in the United States. He has recorded 5 goals and 12 assists in 67 matches since and has 35 caps with Canada.

Cuadrado is about to go under the knife to repair his Achilles tendon. He stated on Instagram that the pain was unbearable at times and that surgery was no longer avoidable.

Our Take on Inter and Buchanan

Since they have a great starter and a solid backup, they are in the perfect position to bring in somebody with a high ceiling that needs a little bit of work to be fully ready. Plus, his price tag isn’t excessive.
