Inter have commenced searching for a new option on the wings, as Juan Cuadrado will soon have surgery to address a lingering Achilles injury. Director Piero Ausilio confirmed it to Sky over the weekend.

“The whole technical area will begin thinking about something because we haven’t yet. We wouldn’t have moved on the market without this problem. We’ll evaluate whether to sign a wingback or somebody else.”

Cuadrado will miss three to four months after going under the knife, forcing Inter to add to their squad. However, they don’t have a budget since they weren’t planning for it, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Lille are asking for €5M for Tiago Djaló, whom they want in a Bosman move.

If the Nerazzurri preferred a different type of player, Club Brugge’s Tajon Buchanan would be one of their favorite targets. His contract expires in 2025, but his side requests €20M. Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier is looking for a new home and is on an expiring deal. He has often been linked with a Serie A transfer.

Inter are also weighing some Italian options to substitute for Cuadrado. They are keen on Patrick Ciurria and have a great relationship with Monza. Salernitana will be open for business in January, and Antonio Candreva and Pasquale Mazzocchi fit what they are looking for, Tuttomercatoweb informs.

Our Take on Inter and the Cuadrado Replacement

Matteo Darmian is perfectly fine on the flank, so they should purchase a young center-back to groom behind Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.
