Kalvin Phillips Joins West Ham On Loan From Manchester City

England midfielder Kalvin Phillips has joined West Ham United on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.

West Ham will pay City a loan fee and also cover the player's wages but the deal does not include an option to make the move permanent.

Phillips is expected to make his Hammers debut in next Thursday's Premier League game against Bournemouth at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old has started just six matches for City in all competitions since signing from Leeds in July 2022.

Despite this lack of game time, he has lifted five trophies as a City player - the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking to WHUFC.com following his arrival on Friday, Phillips said: "There's so much to look forward to in the second half of the season. I can't wait to be part of it.

"There's an unbelievable group here and if I can come in and add the quality that I know I'm capable of, I'm sure we can give the West Ham fans plenty to be excited about between now and the end of the season."

Phillips - who has been capped 31 times by England at senior international level - is under contract with City until June 2028.
