Kylian Mbappe linked with unknown English Premier League club?

Paris Saint-Germain are widely viewed as huge winners of the summer transfer window after the Ligue 1 giants secured the services of Lionel Messi earlier this month. While Messi joins an attack that features Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, Mbappe is in the final season of his contract and reportedly won't sign an extension because he wishes to make a move to Real Madrid.

As Jackson Cole noted for Talksport, RMC Sport reports Paris Saint-Germain have offered Mbappe a lucrative five-year deal that includes an option for another season and that would make the 22-year-old the team's third-highest paid player behind Messi and Neymar. However, Mbappe is allegedly "not following up" on the offer, and that has PSG considering selling him before the window closes at the end of the month to avoid potentially losing him for nothing as a free agent next summer.

Interestingly, RMC Sport adds Real Madrid haven't yet made an offer for Mbappe. Instead, an unnamed English Premier League club has shown interest in swooping in for him before the night of Aug. 31.

Manchester City have repeatedly been linked with wantaway Tottenham Hotspur striker and three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, but it's been reported Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy "could even refuse a bid that gets close to £150 million" for the England captain. City theoretically could afford to splash cash to acquire and sign Mbappe, as could both Liverpool and Manchester United.
