Following this season, there are no safeties for AC Milan, and several key players are ‘facing trial’ to be playing at the club next season, a report suggested this morning.

Everyone around Milan knows about this season’s disappointments – the reminders are clear to see and hurt the most. The humiliation of the 5-1 Derby della Madonnina defeat, the Champions League exit, the Europa League exit at the hands of AS Roma, and finally handing the Scudetto to Inter at San Siro.

Therefore, change has been widely expected ahead of the summer, starting with Stefano Pioli’s exit. However, there is a chance that a star could depart as well, given this season has offered no clarity.

Corriere della Sera (via Radio Rossonera) have reported that the Diavolo’s stars are also to blame for this season’s disappointments. Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan and Fikayo Tomori are all accused of having ‘little personality’. As a result, none are guaranteed a place next season.

Whilst Leao is under contract until 2028, there has been persistent interest in him, as there has been also with Maignan and Theo. However, for the latter duo, their contracts expire in the summer of 2026, and their value depreciates as that date grows nearer.
