Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini admits Andres Guardado is leaving.
The veteran midfielder is set to return home to Mexico.
Pellegrini told ABC: "The departure of Andrs, if it occurs, it will be a very important loss.
"He is one of the captains, he has a very strong group spirit, a very important career from which to demand the entire group with great performance behind him. On the other hand, it is normal, age affects us all and Andrs has a great opportunity in Mexico to continue his career for two or three more years, to return to his country.
"I think he has done enough merit here to help him if he made the decision that way and from my personal point of view I will give him all the support in what he believes is best for his career."
