Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno but AC Milan have a deal of their own in mind.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, it seems likely that Buongiorno will leave Torino this summer, having been the subject of major speculation last summer and during the January transfer window.

He came close to joining Atalanta in the past and was chased by Napoli in January. They offered €25m and Leo Ostigard for the Italian defender but Torino president Urbano Cairo said no, as he expects around €35m for Buongiorno.

The emergence of a Premier League side could cause Buongiorno’s price tag to rise and Torino are known for driving a hard bargain, but Milan are still interested and have a plan to secure a deal ahead of Tottenham.

Torino have previously shown interest in signing Milan striker Lorenzo Colombo and he is currently on loan at Monza. Milan are expected to use him as a bargaining chip at some point during the summer, and there is logic to using him with Torino.

Buongiorno appeared close to leaving Torino for Milan in January but he suffered a serious injury, which meant it was best for him to stay in Turin.
