AC Milan’s defensive department has been subject to repeated injury crises this season and after the 3-3 draw against Sassuolo there were fears that another had begun.

Simon Kjaer was brought off in the second half of the game yesterday headed to the dressing room without staying to watch the game on the bench, which certainly fuelled the idea that he suffered an injury, as did Stefano Pioli mentioning a ‘flexor problem’ after the game.

Meanwhile, Malick Thiaw was also seen hobbling around towards the end of the game clutching his hamstring. The German defender suffered muscle cramp which later passed, according to what filtered at the end of the game, and thus he was able to continue.

However, according to the latest from Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, Kjaer underwent a scan this morning on his flexor which has ruled out a strain or tear of any kind. His condition will be evaluated in one week, following some treatment.

Meanwhile, any kind of injury was also ruled out for Thiaw which means that he did just suffer some cramp and should be able to train regularly with the rest of the squad in the build-up to the second leg against Roma.
