Villarreal coach Marcelino admitted mixed emotions after their 1-1 draw with Real Mallorca.

Alexander Sorloth struck for Villarreal, which had to play with ten men for the final half-hour after Pepe Reina saw red. Javier Llabres scored the equaliser in injury-time.

Marcelino said: "It's happening to us. Last weekend Las Palmas shot at us three times and scored three goals. They are dynamic when you are on a negative trajectory. But I'm happy.

"There are times when you are worried about winning, but it fills me with satisfaction to see the work the team has done. We have been superior, dominant, with more chances. And the sum means that victory should fall on our side. They tied us at 90 in their only dangerous action. The path we have marked is the one we must follow. This way we will give satisfaction to these fans who have received us with all their support. It's a shame but I'm happy with what I saw.

"The goal makes me angry because I try to contextualize everything. And we deserved the victory in that whole, but it hasn't happened. You see the results are clearly deserved. It is an action that we could have avoided, but it is bad luck to go from a possible two to zero to the tying goal. We have to overcome it because if they give us many chances they can score goals. But if they believe little in us like today, few of us will fit in."

On Goncalo Guedes' debut, he added: "It's a shame because he came in super active, he created danger, he had the two to zero on occasions that he normally finishes. He has trained little, but if we can get him to reach his maximum physical and mental level it will be differential. He is at a very good age."
