Watch: Chelsea’s new favourite defensive partnership shows steel and silk to hold Man City

Chelsea were really impressive defensively in yesterday’s draw with Man City, and a big part of that was the pairing at centre back.

With Thiago Silva out, Levi Colwill partnered Axel Disasi, and they both put in really good showings under huge pressure. They got the better of Erling Haaland and the rest of City’s dangerous attack.

They also showed great ability moving the ball forward too, something that our defence has struggled to do at times this season. The highlights of their performance show a great partnership in the making, with each player making up for the weaknesses of the other.
