West Ham United forward Danny Ings still has a part to play for the club in the coming months.

That is the view of manager David Moyes, as he was asked about transfer interest in Ings.

The forward did play in the Hammers' battling 2-2 draw against Sheffield United in the Premier League at the weekend.

We brought Danny in when we were really short of centre-forward options and we wanted someone that could score in the Premier League," Moyes told reporters.

We wanted someone to hit the ground running. I can remember him scoring two against Nottingham Forest when we probably needed the goals to make sure we weren't in a relegation battle last year.

Danny has played his part and he's probably wanted more minutes than we've been able to offer him, but there are circumstances that have affected the situation. If you look at the form of the forward players, there's Michail Antonio and we're using Jarrod Bowen now, so it's been pretty hard for him. But overall Danny Ings is a really good player and really good professional to work with as well.

Can it work out for him? I think that's more a question for Danny Ings rather than me. All I can say is, we really like him. He works hard and tries to be the best he can be every day. We're really supportive of him."
