Eddie Edwards and Frankie Kazarian are heading back to where their careers began.
Impact Wrestling has announced that Edwards and Kazarian will face off in a Back to School match at Emergence this Sunday (August 27). The match is being filmed at Killer Kowalski's wrestling school in Massachusetts. Both Edwards and Kazarian were trained by the late Kowalski.
During a segment on Impact last week, Edwards and Kazarian agreed to fight in the ring at Kowalski's school. Kazarian tried to get Edwards to drop their feud and said they should go their separate ways. Kazarian said it's what Kowalski would have wanted. Edwards responded by saying that Kowalski would have wanted them to settle their issues in the ring once and for all.
The segment took place one week after Kazarian accidentally struck Edwards' wife Alisha with a kendo stick.
At Slammiversary last month, Edwards defeated Kazarian after using a kendo stick while the referee was out.
Emergence is airing live on Impact Plus, Impact's Ultimate Insiders YouTube service, and Fite TV. The rest of the show besides Edwards vs. Kazarian is taking place from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
