Brian Pillman's estate signs Legends contract with WWE

Brian Pillman’s estate has signed with WWE.

Brittany Pillman Evans, the daughter of Pillman, announced the signing on her Instagram Stories page.

"I never thought I would see this day but after 27 long years, my siblings and I finally own the rights to our father's legacy!,” she wrote. I just want to say THANK YOU to all the fans for keeping my father's name alive, this is all because of YOU, and thanks to WWE for making this happen! Stay tuned for new merch coming soon."

Pillman is best known for his time in both WCW and WWE. While under contract to WWE, he died on October 5, 1997 after being found dead in a motel just hours prior to WWE’s In Your House: Badd Blood event. An autopsy later determined that Pillman had died of a heart attack.

The son of Pillman, Brian Pillman Jr., currently wrestles in NXT under the name Lexis King. He will face Riley Osborne on Tuesday’s NXT.
