WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley recently talked about suffering a stroke back in 2020 and how he almost couldn't make it through.

D-Von had been a part of The Dudley Boyz and it is one of the most decorated tag teams of all time. Dudley has not stepped into the ring since 2016. His final match in his WWE in-ring career took place at SummerSlam 2016. During the kickoff show, he teamed with Bubba Ray Dudley to face Neville and Sami Zayn in a losing effort.

The former ECW star had been dealing with health issues for years. He took some time off while he was working as a producer in WWE. Reports suggested that he had a stroke in 2020 and he later confirmed the same.

It was recently announced that D-Von is set to reunite with his long-term partner Bully Ray on the 1000th episode of "Impact Wrestling" on September 9.

D-Von Dudley opens up on recovering from stroke

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, D-Von Dudley is excited to be back following his long hiatus.

"It's been almost 10 years since I've been in the ring. It's like riding a bike. I've had some health issues and I think that's one of the biggest things for me. Because I had the stroke in 2020 and I almost didn't make it. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for my wife, who I love dearly and who really saw that I was having a stroke. The stroke is a silent killer." [ H/t WrestlingInc]

During the conversation, D-Von thanked his personal trainer, as he revealed that he had only 25% of his strength on his left side following his stroke. The legendary superstar also went through back surgery following that and had multiple vertebrae in his back that had to be fused. Despite the health complications, the veteran star believes he has a lot left in his tank.

"So to go through all of that within a short period of time within each other... and now all of a sudden to have the opportunity to get back together with Bubba and be on the 1000th episode of Impact and relive the glory we once had, I think it's great. I'm really looking forward to this."

We will have to wait and see what is in the store for fans as Team 3-D reunites next month in IMPACT Wrestling.
