Dragon Lee replacing Wes Lee at WWE NXT Deadline due to injury

The NXT North American title match for Deadline has been changed.

Wes Lee is out of the match after announcing on NXT Tuesday he's out of action with a back injury. Walking to the ring with a crutch, Lee said that he needed surgery. Dominik Mysterio came to the ring and celebrated having a day off on Saturday. Lee responded by saying he’d still be defending the title at Deadline. Rey Mysterio then appeared on the video screen and said he would be in the corner of Dominik's challenger at Deadline, Dragon Lee, who then came to the ring and chased off Dominik to end the segment.

On commentary, Vic Joseph later said that Wes Lee would be out 8-12 months due to his back surgery.

Lee had recently returned to TV, winning a four-way match in the main event of last week’s NXT to earn a North American title match against Dominik Mysterio.
