WWE Hall of Famer 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan is recovering after being hospitalized and undergoing emergency surgery. 

On Twitter, Debra Duggan provided a statement on her husband and thanked fans who had come see Jim during a ceremony honoring him by the Glens Falls Firefighters Association. Debra added that after 3:30 Jim was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery and added that "everything went well."

Best known for his time in WWE, Duggan never held gold with the promotion but would win the very first Royal Rumble match in 1988. In World Championship Wrestling, Duggan won the United States Heavyweight Champion and was the final Television Champion. In 2004. Duggan would capture the first and only World Championship of his career, winning and promptly vacating the IWA World Heavyweight Championship in Tokyo.

In 2011, Duggan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in a class that included Shawn Michaels, the Road Warriors, Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch, 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong, Drew Carey, and Abdullah the Butcher. 

Duggan's Health Issues

In October 2021, Duggan disclosed that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which he had been living with for a couple of months. Duggan would undergo surgery later that month and would confirm he was cancer-free that December. 

In May of last year, Duggan took to Twitter to disclose that his cancer had returned. In August, Duggan revealed in an emotional video that he had once again beaten cancer
