The Rock teases potential storyline after shocking WWE return

The Rock made a shocking return to WWE during Monday's episode of "Raw Day 1." He had a segment with Jinder Mahal, which ended with The Rock teasing a potential feud with Roman Reigns for a spot at the head of "The Bloodline's" table.

Following his appearance in WWE, The Rock took to Instagram to share a message to his fans. Yet, the final line in the message is what could be the most exciting part of all. He noted how "we're just getting started," which can be seen as a further tease to a potential storyline against Reigns.

"It all hits differently," The Rock wrote. "The theme, the crowd, the connection, the reaction, the electricity, the chills - the mana. Helluva way to bring in 2024. Grateful, blessed & inspired to forever be, the People’s Champ. @wwe We’re just getting started."

The Rock was making his second appearance on WWE programming within a four-month period. He made his return in September 2023 during an episode of "Smackdown," ending a four-year hiatus from the company. However, it's been a lot longer since he was last in a wrestling ring.

Of course, involving The Rock in a storyline doesn't mean he will be facing Reigns in the ring. He could play the role of an antagonist between Reigns and any number of stars who have issues with the Bloodline. Yet, if WWE is aiming for a huge matchup at Wrestlemania, it doesn't get much bigger than the "People's Champion" vs. the "Head of the Table."

Having The Rock back on their programming will undoubtedly provide WWE with a significant ratings boost. The fact that he doesn't need to wrestle to make such an impact speaks to the incredible career he had before moving into a movie star role.

Whether WWE and The Rock have plans for a potential storyline or an in-ring return will remain to be seen. One thing is for sure, though: his post on Instagram has got wrestling fans around the world dreaming of a Wrestlemania main event, and that will ensure everyone remains engaged in the coming months.
