Making roster cuts ahead of the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, the New Orleans Pelicans have decided to waive forward Kelan Martin, first reported by ESPN’s Andrew Lopez.
The Pelicans have signed small forward Kelan Martin and guard Javonte Smart, the team announced in a press release. To create room, New Orleans waived two-way forward John Butler and guard John Petty Jr.

Free agent small forward Kelan Martin will attend training camp with the Pelicans, he told Ben Stinar of SI.com Fan Nation. Martin, 27, is 6-foot-5 and finished last season with the Celtics after signing a pair of 10-day contracts in February and March.
